Remachined Flooring
Our remachined flooring can be made to your specific needs for example, if you need a match for an existing floor, we can match the size to make for a seamless extension.We do our own machining and make straight, easy to install flooring that fits together tight and requires just a light sand. Increasingly we are selling more remachined floor boards and overlays into new builds to give some character and charm and have had many delighted customers. We always have good stock of recycled Rimu to make into flooring. We also have stock of Matai and Kauri however for larger quantities some notice may be required.
19mm Thick T+G Floorboard
Widths from 60mm to 150mm
To be used onto joists. A lot of customers use for overlay, especially onto concrete floors as overall additional costs are minimal compared to 9mm or 12mm overlays.
12mm Thick T+G Overlay
Widths from 60mm to 150mm
To be used over a sub-floor such as particle board, plywood or concrete normally glued and secret nailed. A lot of people are replacing their tired carpet with a solid timber overlay
9mm Thick Dressed 4 Sides Overlay
Widths From 60mm to 150mm
No T+G, to be used the same as the T+G 12mm Overlay.
Salvaged original floorboards
We supply salvaged original floorboards that have been carefully lifted, de-nailed docked and checked for quality. These are generally used for repairs to existing floors and extension/renovations. Laid as is and then sanded. Will have original nail holes. More rustic than re-machined flooring. We always have good stock of most species.
In the old days flooring was measured in imperial measurements and came in three basic widths
- Ex 4" - Usually between 80 and 89mm
- Ex 5" - Usually around 100mm
- Ex 6"- Usually between 130mm to 137mm
